Job Description
▶System / Control / Embedded Engineer for the manufacturing) You will be working as an engineer at Toho Technology, a technology trading company and manufacturer with a history of over 190 years. This position supports the automation and efficiency improvement of manufacturing industries. Unlike general Web/IT software development, this role involves the design and development of systems and control mechanisms that actually move machines and equipment in manufacturing sites such as semiconductor production equipment and factory production lines. You will be assigned to either: ・the Solutions Division, which handles production management systems and network construction, or ・the Fine Mechanics Division, which develops world-class semiconductor inspection equipment.
Details
Applicants may choose one of the following four fields based on their interest and specialization. Assignments will be decided according to your suitability and preferences. ▶Field 1: Solutions Division– System Engineer ・Develop production control and management systems that link PC applications with PLCs (computers that control factory machinery). ・Programming languages: C#, C++, Python ・Database design: SQL Server, PostgreSQL ・System design linking PCs and manufacturing equipment (PLC, I/O devices) ・On-site installation and adjustment work at customer factories (requires safety helmet) ▶Field 2: Solutions Division – Control Engineer ・Design and program electrical control systems that govern the movements of industrial machinery. ・PLC programming (IEC 61131-3 standard) ・Precise control of servo motors and inverters ・Construction of feedback control systems using sensors ・Device communication using industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, PROFIBUS, etc.) ▶Field 3: Solutions Division – Embedded/Electronic Board Engineer ・Design and develop the core electronic circuit boards and embedded software for the company’s industrial communication devices. ・Embedded software development using microcontrollers (MCU) in C/C++ ・Creation of optimal control programs based on understanding of electronic circuit characteristics ▶Field 4: Fine Mecha Division – Semiconductor Equipment System Engineer ・Develop software systems that control large-scale semiconductor inspection equipment used worldwide. ・Unlike smartphone app development, this involves directly controlling robots, precision cameras, and image processing technologies to operate hardware. ・Programming languages: C++, C#, C ・Robot control for wafer (semiconductor substrate) transport ・Image processing and analysis for automatic defect/dust detection using microscopes and special cameras ・Overseas business trips (Taiwan, Korea, China, etc.) for setup and adjustment (approx. 2 weeks to 2 months). Work may require wearing cleanroom suits.
